Help Brighten up NEPA for a day while raising the needed funds for new art and mural installations.
The Street Art Society of NEPA is proudly sponsoring a COLOR FUN WALK/RUN in Nesbitt Park, Kingston on June 17th, 2022, at 6:30PM. The event’s purpose is to raise the needed funds to continue to blanket the Wilkes-Barre area with new art installations and will be held in tandem with the annual Wyoming Valley Riverfest which occurs the same weekend. Get a little exercise and a lot of fun!
What is a Color Fun Walk/Run?
Well, it is a fun filled 5k that is untimed—good to know! At each kilometer mark, participants are doused with multiple-colored powders. Participants wear light colors at the beginning, and finish the race themselves–a colorful work of art.
SASNEPA has previously installed over a dozen murals on the west side (Kingston, Luzerne, and Edwardsville) of the Wyoming valley and next will be targeting downtown Wilkes-Barre. The group’s mission is to improve the aesthetic, cultural, and investment value of communities in Northeastern Pennsylvania by initiating the completion of public artworks within those communities.
Following the run, participants can enjoy the many vendors at the Wyoming Valley Riverfest.
